Burial and grave options
The cemetery has the following grave types: Elective coffin or urn grave; Maintenance-free grave; Cooperative grave fields; Fields for stillborn children.
This is the grave-type information included for Cologne West Cemetery. Read every named option literally: the wording identifies the category, but it does not by itself answer questions about current availability, term, renewal, price, number of burials, planting or ongoing care.
Compare options consistently
For each option considered at Cologne West Cemetery, ask City of Cologne, Office for Landscape Management and Green Spaces the same set of questions: Is it currently available? What term applies? Can the right be renewed? How many burials are possible? Which monument and planting rules apply? Who carries out routine care, and what is included in the fee?
Relate the choice to the grounds
A grave type at Cologne West Cemetery may be associated with a particular section. Before deciding, obtain the section name and compare it with the 16 named places on the cemetery map. Then check which entrance is most practical for family visits and any future grave care.
